Interior Design

The Interior Design unit plays a key role in shaping functional, cohesive, and visually consistent interior environments across campus. They provide expert guidance in space planning, finish coordination, and furniture and fixture sourcing, while collaborating closely with project managers, planners, and stakeholders. Their work ensures that each interior space aligns with the university’s design standards, supports its mission, and enhances the overall campus experience.

Responsibilities

Project Support

Provide comprehensive project support by partnering with project managers, planners, and University stakeholders to deliver cohesive, functional, and visually aligned interior environments. Our unit offers expert consultation, assists with finish selection, and handles product sourcing to ensure each project meets both aesthetic goals and university standards. We work collaboratively to integrate interior design seamlessly into the overall project planning and execution process.

Space Planning

Optimize the functionality, flow, and usability of interior environments across campus.  Analyze spatial requirements and develop layouts that support the intended purpose of each space. Whether reconfiguring existing areas or planning new ones, our goal is to create efficient, flexible, and user-centered solutions that enhance the overall experience of the space.

Furniture & Fixtures Sourcing

Sourcing furniture and fixtures that align with project goals, university standards, and budget requirements. This includes researching and selecting products that meet functional, aesthetic, and durability needs, as well as coordinating with vendors and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and installation. By leveraging industry knowledge and supplier relationships, we ensure that each space is equipped with high-quality, purpose-driven furnishings.

Coordinating Finishes

Oversee the selection and coordination of interior finishes to ensure a cohesive and durable aesthetic that aligns with the university’s design standards. This includes choosing appropriate materials for flooring, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, while balancing functionality, maintenance needs, and visual appeal.
